About The Role  

In this role you will be joining an existing high-performing US Government sales team, led by a Senior Director with an established record of sales excellence as well as a strong reputation in the segment. We have existing customers in the segment and will look to you to drive revenue growth by building upon that presence. You will work to engage prospects and clients in a group of targeted agencies and be responsible for creating new opportunities, driving deal flow through a highly-evolved sales process, managing an accurate forecast and exceeding established monthly and quarterly sales objectives. This is a critical strategic selling role and characterized by high activity levels, dynamic communication, active prospect engagement, and effective negotiation and closing skills in a complex technology sales environment. This role and the organizational culture requires that you be a team player and self-starter, highly motivated by your ability to win new business and earn.

In this role you will have access to a number of supporting resources to help you achieve results, including lead development resources and pre-sales technical resources.  As such you will be required to work and sell in a team environment where collaboration, planning and precise execution will define success or failure. This role is characterized by a demonstrable record of over-plan sales achievement, strategic account selling, high activity levels, strong knowledge of the organization's products and services and a firm understanding of the competitive landscape. Team players with extensive experience working in a very fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and a strong desire to earn are ideally suited for this role.

What we need you to do:

  • Work with strong sales leadership to identify a targeted set of accounts within the territory and build strategic sales plans for each
  • Work with sales and marketing leadership to develop a plan to drive Boundless awareness and demand generation.
  • Work with your lead development resource to ensure smooth handoff of qualified leads, which you will use to build top-of-funnel sales opportunities.
  • Engage qualified prospects and take them through the journey of identifying a fit for Boundless solutions and negotiating through traditional enterprise sales agreement/contract/procurement obstacles to achieve an ultimate win.
  • Manage the contracting and Federal procurement process.
  • Work closely with our professional services organization and customer success teams to ensure a successful onboarding for new customers.
  • Work closely with pre-sales staff to ensure a cohesive effort is put forth when demonstrating Boundless products and services and achieving a technical win.
  • Work aggressively to develop the adequate sales pipeline needed to achieve or exceed your sales targets and goals.

  • Collaborate and innovate as needed to create customer-facing presentations and proposals unique to the prospect and situation.

Skills needed to excel:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of enterprise software sales experience in US Federal government with verifiable references and a strong W-2 earnings history.
  • Strong background in one or all of the following disciplines; Geography, Cartography, Remote Sensed Imagery, and Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT).
  • Experience in both the technical and practical application of GIS software and solutions.
  • Experience in both enterprise and SaaS/cloud software environments as well as experience in selling professional services and custom consulting solutions to Federal entities.
  • Proven experience of effectively building pipeline for an emerging market software company
  • Consistently meeting and/or exceeding sales quotas.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills with attention to detail and experience with Federal contracting and procurement.
  • Security Clearance (TS/SCI-eligible) a big plus.
  • This position is located in the Washington DC area but if you meet the criteria, we are open to other Eastern-based locations
